Not to be confused with the quarterback who stole his name, multiple sources report former Kentucky edge rusher, Josh Allen, is on the trading block. With the NFL trade deadline looming, a deal could go down before November 2nd.

Allen, now in his fourth season with the Jacksonville Jaguars, was the former AP Defensive Rookie of the year in 2019 and made the Pro Bowl. An injury during his second year derailed him a bit and while he hasn’t returned to the gaudy numbers (10.5 sacks) he put up during his rookie campaign, he is still a beast.

After getting off to a hot start with three sacks in the first three games of the season, Allen has been quiet during the Jaguars’ current five-game losing streak. This could be, in part, due to his future with the team being murky.

The Kansas City Chiefs are reportedly the team most interested in Allen’s services, as they look to beef up their defense for another Super Bowl run, but the Jags have received multiple calls regarding his availability.

Jaguars head coach, Doug Peterson, dodged the question in a press conference when asked about the rumors, but many fans and reporters alike view his lack of denial as proof that these discussions are indeed happening.

The Jaguars picked up Allen’s contract for a fifth-year option worth $10.89 million, but he will be due for a major deal after that, so it will be up to the team whether they want to pay him or collect other players and/or draft picks in a deal.

The Josh Allen trade talk could all just be standard gamesmanship, but we’ll find out for sure by the trade deadline on Wednesday.
