Josh Harrellson is still King of the World

josh-harrellson-louisville It's still the happiest time of the year at KSR as Jorts Appreciation Week continues this morning with the announcement that Josh Harrellson was named the SEC's Player of the Week for his domination of the Chicken Shack Friday.  Harrellson's 23 points and 14 rebounds earned him top honors for the first time in his career, while Brandon Knight's 25 points garnered him SEC Freshmen of the Week.  It was the second week in a row that UK swept the awards. The award is another cherry on top of the Josh Harrellson transformation sundae, which Coach Cal spoke about a bit on the SEC coaches teleconference today.  Cal said that Josh is a great example of of what he hopes to get out of all of his players - an "I can't believe that young man is playing that way" reaction from those watching him play.  Coach Cal spoke at great length about how his job is to get guys playing at a level that they never though possible and that is what we're seeing from Jorts now.  He said that it is his job to coach each player individually and that, for Josh, means 6 am conditioning sessions (which Cal hates) to help him improve himself individually, so that he can be a valuable piece of the team.  Cal added that as these successes come, Josh's confidence grows and that he's now doing the things he didn't think he could and he's on a mission to continue to get better.  So far, mission accomplished.
