Kentucky tight end Keaton Upshaw suffered an injury during a preseason workout that has him out indefinitely, most likely for the entire season. Reportedly a torn pectoral muscle, Mark Stoops did not get into the specifics when asked at SEC Media Days earlier this week, but did confirm the injury will keep Upshaw out for a significant amount of time. "Traditionally speaking, that is a season-ending injury, but we’ll see and we need to confirm that," Stoops told reporters down in Alabama. "I don’t have any more news other than that at this point. Saw him this morning. Just feel terrible for him. I know he’s very down." Some good news, earlier today Upshaw tweeted he is out of surgery and that it went well. "Appreciate all the prayers," he thanked the fans. https://twitter.com/UpshawKeaton/status/1418634629607825409 Upshaw was due for a big junior season in new offensive coordinator Liam Coen's brand of football. He led the team in touchdowns as a sophomore with three of the team total seven TD receptions in 2020, and was going to see even more targets in 2021. It's a tough break for a potential breakout star shortly before fall camp, but he'll be back. Best wishes on a speedy recovery.
