There are a lot of bad numbers from today’s 78-52 loss to No. 7 Alabama and the 26-point margin of defeat is only one of them. It’s Kentucky’s biggest loss in the history of the series and the Cats’ 52 points are tied for the third-fewest in a game in the John Calipari Era.

Furthering the pain, Kentucky is now 0-4 in Quad 1 games this season (Alabama, Gonzaga, UCLA, Missouri) and the average margin of defeat in those games is 16.5 points. According to HeatCheckCBB, Kentucky is now 11-22 in its last 22 games against Quad 1 opponents going back to the start of the 2020-21 season. And, as you probably know, Kentucky is now 4-14 against AP Top 25 opponents in that span as well.

If you can stand it, here’s the box score. A few of the most glaring numbers:

  • 1: Kentucky player finished in the positive in +/- efficiency, Lance Ware, who was +3 in the six minutes he played. Oscar Tshiebwe was -25 and Sahvir Wheeler and Cason Wallace were both -23.
  • 28.8: Kentucky’s field-goal percentage (21-73)
  • 25: Kentucky’s three-point percentage (5-20)
  • 3-30: Combined shooting from Oscar Tshiebwe, Cason Wallace, and Jacob Toppin
  • 2: Points scored by Cason Wallace
  • 29:46: Time that elapsed before Oscar Tshiebwe made a field goal

Ugh. It’s all so bad. Read it and weep below.
