Kentucky Baseball Drops Series to Florida

Photo via UKAthletics.com Fresh off dropping a series to Vanderbilt in Nashville, the #3 Bat Cats dropped only their second series this season at home to Florida.  The series was officially lost yesterday 5-1, after UK allowed four runs in the last two innings to let Florida break away from a 1-1 tie. Kentucky did manage to salvage at least one game, beating the Gators 2-1 today off of only seven hits in twenty-eight at bats.  So it wasn't a total loss. The series will likely have a big impact in the SEC, with both schools ranked in the Top 10 nationally going into the weekend.  Expect to see a strong rebound this Wednesday, 5/9, when the Cats head to Bloomington to tackle the Hoosiers, who are currently unranked. After IU takes their inevitable shellacking, Kentucky will finish off conference play with a series at home against Alabama, then at Mississippi State.  Be sure to get out to Cliff Hagan Stadium while you can in the next couple weeks to catch the tail end of what's been a great season so far.
