The new AP College Basketball poll is out and the Cats are down a spot after a ho-hum win over Central Michigan. Kentucky is No. 10 in the new Top 25, behind Kansas and Alabama and ahead of Arizona. Purdue is the new No. 1 team in the country, followed by Baylor and the previous No. 1, Duke, which lost to Ohio State last Tuesday. The Buckeyes, who play Kentucky in Las Vegas on Dec. 18, are back in the poll at No. 21.

With LSU hopping in at No. 25, there are now SEVEN SEC teams in the rankings: Alabama (9), Kentucky (10), Arkansas (12), Tennessee (13), Auburn (18), Florida (20), and LSU (25). It really does just mean more. In case you missed this fun fact yesterday, Kentucky is the only school in the SEC with three teams ranked in the “major” sports right now. The men’s basketball team is No. 10 (AP), the women’s basketball team is No. 16 (AP), and the football team is No. 25 (AP). Go Cats.
