Gambling on Kentucky Basketball has been a wild ride this season. The Wildcats didn’t cover the spread in the season opener against Duke, then covered, didn’t cover, covered, didn’t cover, covered, and then didn’t cover. One win against the spread was the Zan Payne game that took bettors down to the final seconds, including one high-roller with $220,000 riding on Kentucky to cover 24.5 points against Mount St. Mary’s. Kentucky won by 25.

This past game was another adventure but ended in defeat for Kentucky backers as UK allowed Tony Barbee’s Central Michigan to sneak back within a couple points of the 30+ points point spread. The totals on Kentucky games have been pretty even so far too; four unders, three overs in seven games.

Now for a checkup on the futures for Kentucky Basketball. The title odds shifted this week and there are three Kentucky Wildcats in play for the Wooden Award, depending who you ask. But first, the NCAA title bet…

National Championship Odds

Over at the online sportsbook BetOnline.ag, Kentucky’s title odds moved from +1400 (14/1 odds) to +2200 (22/1) in the seven games since the season began on November 7.

Kentucky +2200 (22/1)

Kentucky’s odds opened at +1800 in the spring, fell to +1400 in the fall, stayed at +1400 on Opening Day, and have since dropped to +2200. Meanwhile, Duke moved to +900 (9/1) from +1200 (12/1) to open the season, but Gonzaga remains the betting favorite at +450 (9/2) today at BetOnline.

Remember, title odds vary from sportsbook to sportsbook, so be sure to shop around. VegasInsider.com does not take bets but currently lists Kentucky at +1600 (16/1) to win the championship. I would tell you the price at the nearest real-life casino but those do not exist in Kentucky, only in the surrounding states and I don’t have that kind of time right now.

The best I can find from here is actually a KSR sponsor, MyBookie.ag, where you can still get Kentucky at +2600 (26/1). Use promo code FREEMONEY for a sign-up bonus.

Wooden Award Odds

In the Player of the Year race, Gonzaga’s Drew Timme and Duke’s Paolo Banchero share the honor of being the betting favorite; both at +375 (7/2) odds, according to BetOnline.ag. A very familiar name in Johnny Juzang is fourth on the board at +1200 (12/1) odds, then Kentucky’s Oscar Tshiebwe makes his first appearance in the Wooden betting conversation. Tshiebwe jumped from off the board in the preseason to +3300 (33/1) in BetOnline’s new update. Behind him, Kellan Grady fell off the board from +8000 (80/1) odds to start the year.

Oscar Tshiebwe +3000 (30/1)

If you’re interested in betting on Grady or TyTy Washington, Bovada lists those two but not Tshiebwe.

Kellan Grady +15000 (150/1)
TyTy Washington +25000 (250/1)

Our nation’s leader in assists, Sahvir Wheeler cannot be found.

Good luck, everybody. Be careful out there because Vegas is out to recollect from that Governor’s Cup bath it took.
