Kentucky’s win over Louisville resulted in a 30-spot jump in the NCAA’s NET rankings last week. After beating Missouri to start SEC play, the Cats continue to climb the NET, now up to No. 37 from No. 44 a week ago.

Undefeated San Diego State is still the No. 1 team in the country in the eyes of the NCAA’s computers, followed by Kansas, Butler, Duke, and Baylor. Auburn is the top SEC team, coming in at No. 6. After seven straight wins, including yesterday’s 87-69 victory over Michigan, Michigan State is up to No. 10, making Kentucky’s season-opening win over the Spartans look much better than it did a few weeks back. Ohio State is down to No. 11 following back-to-back losses to West Virginia and Wisconsin, and Louisville is down to No. 18 following the loss to Florida State. You can see the entire rankings here.

With the new rankings out, let’s take a look at Kentucky’s team sheet, which the Selection Committee starting using to pick and seed teams a few years back. Each team’s wins are sorted into four quadrants using their opponent’s NET rankings:

  • Quadrant 1: Home 1-30; Neutral 1-50; Away 1-75
  • Quadrant 2: Home 31-75; Neutral 51-100; Away 76-135
  • Quadrant 3: Home 76-160; Neutral 101-200; Away 136-240
  • Quadrant 4: Home 161-plus; Neutral 201-plus; Away 241-plus

Up for grabs this week: a Quadrant 1 win at Georgia and a Quadrant 2 win vs. Alabama in Rupp.
