For just the fourth time in 30 years, Ole Miss will host the Kentucky football team in Oxford. For the first time since 1958, both teams are ranked. No. 14 hosts No. 7 at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, beginning at Noon ET on ESPN.

We have a strange dichotomy on our hands. From a national perspective, both teams have been overly scrutinized. What do we really know about these teams so far? Neither top 15 team is being talked about as though they’re a top 15 team. Meanwhile, Lane Kiffin is running the ball all over the yard as Mark Stoops airs it out. It’s a strange, strange world we’re living in.

Through four weeks Will Levis has looked like a future first round draft pick, yet the Kentucky offense has been in consistent. The time is now for Rich Scangarello to put together his best afternoon as UK’s offensive coordinator. Brad White will have his hands full. If UK slows down the Ole Miss tempo and misdirection, Jaxson Dart will be forced to do something he’s never done before: win a big game.

The last two times Kentucky played Ole Miss, the game was decided in the waning seconds. If history repeats itself, the BBN is in for an exciting afternoon of Kentucky football.

Kentucky vs. Ole Miss: TV, Radio and Point Spread

The Wildcats opened as 4-point underdogs. You might be able to still find UK +7, but most have it down to 6.5 as we approach game time. The total is 54.5. Kentucky has won 6 of its last 13 games outright as an underdog. Four of those wins came as at least a six-point dog.

Kickoff is at noon. Kentucky is getting one of the best broadcasting crews you will find in all of football. Sean McDonough, Todd Blackledge and Molly McGrath will be joined by Todd McShay on ESPN. If you can’t attend the game or stream the Cats, you can always listen to the Voice of the Wildcats, Tom Leach, and Jeff Piecoro.

Dish, Sling TV Customers in Trouble

If you watch TV through Dish or Sling, I hope you have that radio dial ready. The two carriers are in the midst of a contract dispute with ESPN. The four-letter network was pulled off air last night at midnight for Dish and Sling TV customers. What a nightmare.

CHRIS RODRIGUEZ IS BACK

And we actually have footage from the future just for Kentucky Sports Radio readers. Here’s what Chris Rodriguez will be doing at approximately 12:27 ET.

Grade A Kentucky Football Hype Video

If watching future Chris Rodriguez run through walls did not get you excited, this will do the trick. Who needs coffee before a noon kick?

Blue Got In

We expected a ton of Kentucky fans to travel to Oxford. After all, it is the first game at Ole Miss since 2010. We did not expect this level of pandemonium. You people are crazy.

Not every member of the BBN threw down in Oxford Friday night. Some spent the day in Memphis before making the drive. One fan got clever at Graceland.

Injury Report

Ole Miss will be without its star safety for the first half after Otis Reese was called for targeting in the second half against Tulsa. The best time to take a deep shot is with Reese on the sideline. The Rebels may also be without starting center Caleb Warren. He missed practice all week with a knee injury. Ole Miss had some snapping issues when he went to the sideline a week ago. RB Ulysses Bentley remains out, but Ole Miss is expected to get star Zach Evans back this afternoon.

Kentucky will be without J.J. Weaver for the second straight week. The talented edge from Louisville is shooting for a return vs. South Carolina. Ty Ajian dressed, but sat out of the NIU game. How he feels during pregame will determine how much we see the safety this Saturday.

Today’s Kentucky Football Uniforms

Ole Miss is wearing powder blue jerseys with their “camo” helmets. Instead of speckled paint on the lids, Kentucky is rocking all-white against the Rebels, the same uniforms the Cats brought to the romp in The Swamp.
