Kentucky is going to be heavily favored against the SEC’s worst team.

The opening line for next weekend’s battle between the Wildcats and the Vanderbilt Commodores was released on Sunday afternoon, and UK has the betting advantage. Circa Sports has Kentucky opening as a 17-point favorite to beat Vandy in Lexington on Saturday, Nov. 12. Kickoff is scheduled for noon EST and will air on the SEC Network.

The over/under point total has been set at 45.5.

Kentucky is coming off a tightly-contested 21-17 road win over Missouri on Saturday, which moved the ‘Cats to 6-3 on the season and 3-3 in the SEC. Vanderbilt, meanwhile, has yet to win a league game (0-5) and is coming off losses to both Missouri and South Carolina. After a hot 3-1 start in nonconference play, the ‘Dores are now 3-6 on the year with three more SEC matchups left.

According to ESPN’s analytics, Kentucky has an 88.6 percent chance to take down Vanderbilt. UK is 6-3-0 against this spread this season and 3-2-0 as the home favorite. Vandy is 3-6-0 against the spread but a respectable 2-2-0 as the away team underdog.

What do we think, Big Blue Nation? Is a 17-point spread too high or too low?
