Hundreds of talented high school football players descended upon Kroger Field for the Kentucky football Sunday Night Lights Camp. KSR was on hand to take it all in. Here’s what we saw.

Moe Williams’ Son Stars

One of the most intriguing prospects at the camp has a famous father. Amaree Williams is a 6-foot-5, 200-pound defensive end/tight end prospect in the 2025 recruiting class.

Typically football players that just concluded their freshmen season don’t garnish a ton of attention, but Williams’ father is one of the greatest running backs in Kentucky football history. Moe Williams (1993-95) holds every rushing record than Benny Snell did not break, still the UK single-season leader in rushing yards (1,600 in ’95) and single-game rushing yards (295 vs. South Carolina). He spent a decade in the NFL, primarily with the Minnesota Vikings.

Unlike his Dad, Amaree Williams is a tall, versatile prospect. Still feeling out where he fits best on the football field, he ran tight routes when working one-on-one with CJ Conrad and Vince Marrow. For the second half of the camp, Williams worked on his pass-rushing skills. Recruited by Marrow and Mike Stoops, the Palm Beach athlete has already received offers from Kentucky and Auburn.

A Talented Kentucky Football RB Target

Arguably the best athlete at the Sunday Night Lights Camp was Sam Williams-Dixon. A three-star 2024 running back from West Holmes High School in Millersburg, Oh, Williams-Dixon showed explosiveness when running through drills and catching passes out of the backfield. A recruit on the rise, he’s received a handful of Power Five offers since Kentucky extended a scholarship offer in early May. Vince Marrow was never too far away from Williams-Dixon. See how he operates in full pads between the tackles.

Is that Brad White?

The Kentucky football defensive coordinator showed off a new look as the players report to campus this summer. Brad White shaved his goatee. His motive? To let his upper lip see the light of day for the first time in nine years.

Interesting Kentucky Football Fashion Choices

Octavious Oxendine was one of a dozen or so active players that attended tonight’s camp before summer workouts begin Monday. Thanks to Ox, I learned Von Dutch is still a thing.

Jacquez Jones was on the sideline, without the walking boot he was seen in a few weeks ago. Even though he was wearing a Cleveland Browns hat, Jones said if he had to pick an NFL team, it’s the Dallas Cowboys. Dane Key and JJ Weaver also provided a few campers tips.

Tuesday Camp Shaping up to be a Big One

Next week’s Sunday Night Showcase will include plenty of committed players, as well as others on official visits, while top targets compete on the field. This Tuesday could also be an enlightening experience for those who closely follow Kentucky football recruiting. KSR will be on deck for all of the action.
