Following a statement win over the Missouri Tigers on Saturday night, Kentucky continues to climb in the rankings. The Wildcats aren’t ranked among the top 25 just yet, but only a handful of teams are receiving more votes than UK.

In both the Coaches Poll and AP Poll that were released on Sunday afternoon, Kentucky came just shy of making the top 25. The ‘Cats are receiving the eighth-most votes (50) in the Coaches Poll, good enough for 33rd while the AP Poll has them receiving the 14th-most votes, putting them at 39th.

Kentucky (2-0) needed all four quarters to fend off Mizzou on Saturday night, sealing the deal in the final period to earn the 35-28 victory. Will Levis threw for 179 yards on 10-18 passing, including one touchdown. Chris Rodriguez Jr. was the star of the night though, totaling four touchdowns and a career-high 206 yards rushing.

Heading into Saturday’s game, Kentucky was still receiving votes, but the win over Mizzou gave them a boost. UK jumped from 37th to 33rd in the Coaches Poll and 45th to 39th in the AP Poll following yesterday’s win.
