Kentucky football target Kalib Perry commits to Tennessee
Despite going to school just 18 miles away from the University of Kentucky campus, Great Crossing (Georgetown) standout Kalib Perry will not be a Wildcat. Instead, the three-star linebacker will be taking his talents to Knoxville to suit up for UK’s biggest intraconference rival.
The in-state product announced his commitment to Tennessee in a press conference at his school on Saturday, choosing the Volunteers over Cincinnati, Kentucky and Purdue, among 13 total offers.
Kentucky hosted Perry at camp back on June 23, with the three-star linebacker picking up a scholarship offer shortly after. The 6-foot-4 prospect is listed as the No. 829 overall prospect and No. 80 linebacker in 247Sports Composite Rankings for 2022.
After a great showing at UK's camp, I am blessed and thankful to say I have received an offer from The University Of Kentucky! Thank you so much to @CoachJonSumrall @vincemarrow @UKCoachStoops @CoachWhiteFB @UKFootball for having me and taking me around! #GoUK #wildcats #team3 pic.twitter.com/xZqYHJjTXm

Tennessee hosted the Great Crossing standout for camp back on June 1 and extended a scholarship before bringing him back to Knoxville for an official visit on June 25.
Just over one month later, Perry is a Volunteer.
The newest Tennessee commit led Great Crossing last season in rushing and finished second on the team in receiving, putting up 510 yards and six touchdowns on the ground and 281 yards and two touchdowns through the air. On defense, the athletic linebacker added 140 tackles and one interception as a junior.
On to the next for Mark Stoops and the Kentucky coaching staff.
