Hello there. I hope you are rocking and rolling this weekend, ready for three straight days of NFL Playoff football. Super Wild Card Weekend is a genius move by the league, spreading out the joy of postseason football more than ever before. While you wait to watch the Bills and Patriots play in subzero conditions, enjoy a few Kentucky football updates from around the BBN.

Cool Kentucky Football Gesture

Not every Wildcat fan could make the trip to Orlando for the Citrus Bowl. The university is bringing some of the Citrus Bowl back to the fans. This week some season ticket holders received a package from UK, containing confetti the team celebrated beneath after the win over Iowa.

Moses Douglass goes MACtion

A former four-star defensive is taking his talents back to the state of Ohio. Moses Douglass, the son of ex-Cat Maurice Douglass, announced Friday morning that he will transfer to Kent State. I’ll be tuning in on Tuesday nights next November.

In other portal news, UK fans perked up when they saw Devonta Lee announce he’s leaving LSU. A former UK recruit, the wide receiver chose the Tigers over the Wildcats on NSD. Even though there is a connection to the program, the primary contact in his recruitment, Michael Smith, is no longer in Lexington. As Luckett teased, he’s probably not the portal receiver you should be keeping an eye on.

Former Cat could be Bears’ GM

After a disastrous ending to the Ryan Pace-Matt Nagy era, the Bears’ could find new life under a former Wildcat. Adam Schefter reports that Champ Kelly interviewed for the team’s vacant general manager position today. A defensive back and wide receiver during UK’s Air Raid era, he’s been the Bears’ Assistant Director of Player Personnel since 2014. Star pass-rusher Khalil Mack hopes the Bears promote from within.

Kentucky Football gets Tough Competition for 4-Star Edge

Kentucky was once in an excellent spot to flip R. Mason Thomas from Iowa State. Now two schools are making a late push for the four-star edge rusher that officially visited UK in December. On3’s Chad Simmons reports Thomas has scheduled official visits to Miami and Oklahoma prior to NSD. It’s difficult to foresee a scenario where the Wildcats win out, but anything is possible in the crazy world of college football recruiting.

Terry Wilson still rocks Kentucky Blue

Even though he did not finish his career in Lexington, Terry Wilson will always be a Wildcat. After three seasons at UK, Wilson transferred to New Mexico for his final year of eligibility. This week he’s competing in the Tropical Bowl, a senior showcase taking place at Camping World Stadium, a familiar setting for Terry. All week long he’s rocking a UK helmet. Give em hell, Terry.
