[caption id="attachment_208563" align="alignnone" width="745"]UK Athletics UK Athletics[/caption] After dominating the line of scrimmage in the first half, scoring 17 points and rushing for 142 yards, the Kentucky football team almost let too many opportunities squander away in the second half.  Almost. Boom Williams' fumble to start the third quarter was scooped and scored, setting off a sequence of five penalties and two turnovers in four plays, the latter a Stephen Johnson interception.  But that wasn't the end of it. Kentucky football "Kentucky footballed" even harder after a muffed punt.  Eli Brown setup a score in the first half on a muffed punt, but this time it didn't go so well.  J.D. Harmon could have picked up the muffed punt and walked into the end zone.  Instead, four Wildcats kicked it around until a Commodore eventually fell on it. Trailing 17-10, Vanderbilt marched 85-yards down the field, but Kentucky stood strong.  As Mark Stoops ran down the sideline to call a timeout, Kyle Shurmur's third down pass fell incomplete, leading to a chip shot field goal. UK needed one more defensive stop to put the ball back in Benny Snell's hands.  Snell and Jojo Kemp iced the game with a 13-play, 56-yard drive that chewed up 6:20 of clock (or at least we thought they did). Vanderbilt had to go 72 yards with 1:38 left and no timeouts to tie the game with a touchdown.  It seemed impossible, but they almost did it.  A dropped pass in the end zone with 12 seconds left was Vanderbilt's last good look to tie the game. A win's a win, but good grief Kentucky football, good grief.
