Two cornerbacks have their sights set on the University of Kentucky.

Within 24 hours of each other, two prep stars from the state of Michigan narrowed their list of schools to seven. Kentucky was included in each list.

Originally from River Rouge, Michigan, Kamal Hadden currently plays for Independence C.C. in Kansas. Recruited by Steve Clinkscale, Hadden is the fifth-ranked junior college cornerback and No. 28 player overall in 247 Sports’ JUCO rankings. Auburn, Nebraska, Texas Tech, UCF, Washington State and West Virginia are also finalists. He plans on announcing his decision “by the end of September.”

The other cornerback considering the Cats is also one of Steve Clinkscale’s targets from the state of Michigan. Maxwell Hairston narrowed his finalists to seven in similar photoshop fashion. Along with Kentucky, Hairston is considering Kansas, Minnesota, Purdue, Rutgers, Virginia Tech and Washington State.

The Wildcats are in excellent shape to land the three-star cornerback who described UK as his dream school. Could he be joined by another elite athlete from Michigan? I’m not talking about Hadden. Four-star lineman Rayshaun Benny chimed in with an interesting Tweet following Hairston’s announcement.

Hairston’s final decision will be revealed on UK’s first day of football practice this summer, Monday, Aug. 17.
