While John Calipari and Kentucky Men’s Basketball aren’t going out and offering seventh-graders scholarships, he and his staff are still looking down the recruiting road.

Over the last 24 hours, Kentucky traveled to see two class of 2024 five-star prospects. According to Pro Insight’s Director of Recruiting Andrew Slater, UK is expressing interest in 6-foot-5 forward Ian Jackson and 6-foot guard Elliot Cadeau. Both players are among the top 10 recruits and five-star talents from the class of 2024, per ESPN’s rankings.

Slater reports that Kentucky staff members came to watch Jackson on Tuesday while a pair of UK assistants, Orlando Antigua and Chin Coleman, stopped by to visit Cadeau on Wednesday.

Let’s see what else we can learn about these two budding high school sophomores.

Ian Jackson: 6-5, 180-pound SF (Bronx, NY)

Offers: Kansas State, St. John’s, Oklahoma State, Seton Hall, Nebraska, Bryant

A 2021 Gold Medal winner for Team USA’s U16 squad, Ian Jackson projects to be one of the stars of the 2024 recruiting class. He’s gained considerable attention since the summer, highlighted by a 30-point performance against Chile for Team USA. Jackson was also a standout at a recent MADE Hoops event a couple of months ago, which earned him multiple offers. Slater even reported in late September that one of the two schools Jackson was hoping to hear from was Kentucky (the other being Florida State).

Elliot Cadeau: 6-0, 175-pound PG (Oradell, NJ)

Offers: Syracuse, Oklahoma State, Howard, Tennessee, Providence, St. John’s, Texas Tech, UMASS, Seton Hall, TCU, Siena

Likely to be considered the nation’s top 2024 point guard once more rankings are released, Elliot Cadeau was a major standout at October’s Pangos All-East freshman and sophomore camp. He was also one of 17 players who represented Sweden’s Men’s National Team in the recent FIBA World Cup qualifiers.
