A quick Google search will tell you that Terrion Arnold is a consensus four-star football talent from Tallahassee, FL. Considered the No. 85 player in America by 247 Sports, many believe the exceptional defensive back is leaning toward Alabama, although Florida State and Florida are nipping at Nick Saban's heels. To enter the mix for such a celebrated talent, Mark Stoops is throwing out an enticing alternative to Arnold's college experience: basketball. Arnold recently shared the graphic pictured above on social media. John Calipari has not extended a basketball scholarship offer to Arnold, but other schools have done just that. Alabama, Illinois and Georgia Tech have all told Arnold he can play two sports at the collegiate level. If you watch him operate on the hardwood, you can see why some believe he's good enough to play Power Five basketball. What teams are telling Arnold isn't necessarily practical. Almost like the elusive package deal, the two-sport pitch is almost exclusively used during the recruiting process, then abandoned once the player arrives on campus. Could Arnold be an exception to that norm? His former high school coach Charlie Ward was. “He said the main thing you have to do is make a lot of sacrifices and devote time,” Arnold told the Chicago Tribune. “He said I reminded him of himself.” A call from John Calipari may work wonders for Mark Stoops. Even though Arnold has enough talent to contribute on the hardwood, his future lies in football. He has the size and speed to play safety in the SEC and he gets downhill in a hurry. Somebody who delivers hits like Arnold needs to be making plays on the gridiron.
