After a brief injury scare earlier in the week, Kentucky point guard Sahvir Wheeler has reportedly returned to practice with no limitations.

According to Keith Farmer of LEX18, the Georgia transfer has recovered from the ankle injury he suffered during Monday’s open practice to NBA scouts and the media.

“I have it on good authority that Sahvir Wheeler is going at FULL SPEED in practice,” Farmer reported Thursday. “And BBN takes a collective sigh of relief.”

To close out the open practice, Wheeler went down with a left leg injury while playing defense in a full-court scrimmage. The Georgia transfer went down at midcourt and was unable to put weight on his ankle as he was helped off the floor.

After taking his shoe off and receiving attention from trainers, he was then helped off the bench and taken to the locker room for further evaluations. He was able to put minimal weight on his ankle, but still needed help walking to the back for treatment.

As a sophomore at Georgia, Wheeler led the SEC in assists at 7.4 per contest while also averaging 14.0 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.7 steals in 34.8 minutes per game. He announced his commitment to Kentucky back in May.

Beyond Wheeler, CJ Fredrick (leg), Jacob Toppin (shoulder) and Bryce Hopkins (back) are all working back from their injuries, with John Calipari confirming Sunday all three would return as full participants within the next week. All three players returned to the floor in a non-contact capacity last week.

Big Blue Madness is scheduled for tonight starting at 7 p.m. ET, live at Rupp Arena and on SEC Network.
