Kentucky Ranks 14th Nationally in Athletic Revenue

Kindsey Bernhardover 5 years

lP79W.So.79 A USA TODAY database ranked every public NCAA Division I athletic department's financing. The University of Kentucky ranked 14th nationally and seventh in the SEC, raking in $116,494,690 for the 2015-15 fiscal year. This was a $10 million increase from the previous year. On the other side, Kentucky spent $115,159,039 on the athletic program, which ranked 11th nationally and fifth in the SEC. Kentucky is one of few schools that is able to cover their expenses without heavy subsidization from school or government funds and student fees. According to Kyle Tucker of the Courier-Journal "none of Kentucky's revenue came from institutional support and less than $1 million came from student fees."
