Kentucky receives top No. 2 seed in official NCAA March Madness Bracket Preview

by:Jack Pilgrim02/09/19
This afternoon, the NCAA Selection Committee released their top-16 seeds in the official March Madness Bracket Preview, and the Cats got quite the draw. Kentucky was listed as the top 2-seed (No. 5 overall)  in the Midwest Region, with the Virginia Cavaliers being the No. 1 seed. In order, the No. 1 seeds were Duke (East), Tennessee (South), Virginia (Midwest), and Gonzaga (West). After Kentucky, Michigan (East), North Carolina (South) and Michigan State (West) round out the No. 2 seeds. The 3-seeds were led by Purdue at No. 9 overall, followed by Kansas, Houston, and Marquette. With the No. 4 seeds, Iowa State led the pack, followed by Nevada, Louisville, and Wisconsin. If this bracket sticks through, this is what Kentucky’s road in the Midwest (Kansas City) would look like: 1. Virginia 2. Kentucky 3. Houston 4. Wisconsin Here are all four regions: And the entire Midwest Region, with the Cats potentially taking on 15-seed Loyola (Chicago). If Kentucky can string together a few more victories, chances are good they’ll be able to move up to a No. 1 seed sooner rather than later. Regardless, I’ll take this draw all day, every day.
