It is rare that I read anything in Forbes magazine (although I do read the Teve Torbes magazine), but the latest story about the value of college basketball programs is very interesting. According to Forbes, Kentucky has the 2nd most valuable program in the country, just behind that of North Carolina. “Value” according to the article has to do with revenue generated and profit made by the program itself. The list is actually quite interesting, with Louisville coming in 3rd, Duke 5th and Indiana 6th and the list generally mirrors the level of interest fans have in the various programs. So while we may be a bit off on the court this year, we can generate some dough….and in a capitalistic society, isnt that what it is all about?
