Kentucky will have to face South Carolina without Quade Green tonight, the third game in a row the freshman point guard has had to miss due to back problems.

According to @KentuckyMBB, Green, Tai Wynyard (back), and Jemarl Baker (knee) stayed in Lexington to “continue getting treatment and stay on top of academics.” Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has performed admirably in Green’s absence, running the point and playing 39 minutes in each of the last two games. Hopefully he’s up to the task again tonight.

For what it’s worth, Kentucky’s tweet made no reference to Jarred Vanderbilt, who is reportedly warming up with the team in Columbia. As always, stay tuned…
