Kentucky Women's Soccer earns No. 5 seed, hosts NCAA Tournament matchup in Lexington
Who’s up for some postseason action at the Bell? Kentucky women’s soccer certainly is after wrapping up its best year in a decade en route to a No. 5 seed.
The Cats are set to host West Virginia at the Bell Soccer Complex on Friday, November 15 at 7 p.m. ET in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, the NCAA announced on Monday. It’s just the second time in program history UK has earned a national seed, doing so following a 11-4-4, 3-3-4 finish to the regular season.
Led by head coach Troy Fabiano, the Wildcats will take on the Mountaineers with a second-round matchup against No. 2 Notre Dame or Milwaukee on the line, should they advance on Friday.

Kentucky’s 11-4-4 record is the best the program has seen since 2014 and the best under Fabiano, who took the job in 2022. It’s also just the 12th NCAA Tournament in program history and the first in a decade since hosting an opening round match in 2014.
Tickets for Friday’s match are available here at just $10 apiece for adults and $5 for youth (2-18) and Seniors (65+) — all general admission. Any UK student presenting a valid UK student ID will be admitted free of charge.
We’ll see you at the Bell on Friday. Go Cats.
