Knight Is A Bob Cousy Award Finalist

by:Will Lentz01/12/11

Congratulations to Brandon Knight who has made the cut from 70 to 20 to be a 2011 Bob Cousy Award Finalist earlier today.  The Cousy award is given to “college basketball’s top point guard,” each season (minus last year when it was given to Vasquez instead of John Wall.) Knight is joined by a number of other point guards (specifically 19,) a few of which he has already played against – Isaiah Thomas of Washington and Kemba Walker of UConn.

If I had to make a guess as to the standings at this point, it’s probably Kemba Walker at number 1, a large gap, and then everyone else.  But Kemba is about to take on the Big East whereas Knight is looking at a weak SEC so you never know.  Plus, at this point last year Wall looked like a lock too, so anything can happen.

For the record, here are Brandon Knight’s averages through the Auburn game:

Points: 17.4

Rebounds: 3.6

Assists: 4

Turnovers: 3.4
