legree During the slow and insipid summer of 2008, former KSR wordsmith Evan Hilbert profiled each and every member of the University of Kentucky football team. Though his knowledge was sparse and his research was far from thorough, Evan’s short and insufficient player profiles were an integral part of Kentucky’s success that season. UK finished with seven wins, including the opener at Louisville and a 25-19 victory in the Liberty Bowl. Kentucky hasn’t won a bowl game since. Let’s bring back that magic…   #6 A.J Legree Vitals -- Height: 6'1" -- Weight: 189 lbs. -- Class: Sophomore -- Experience: 1L -- Position: Wide Receiver -- Hometown: Ft. White, Florida -- High School: Fort White -- Twitter: @ajizzal20 Class of 2012 Ranking -- Rivals.com: NR, starstarstar -- Scout.com: N/A -- 247Sports.com: #89 Athlete, starstarstar -- ESPN Recruiting: #89 WR, starstarstar How He Got Here Mr. Legree is a Floridian that had to go out of his way to standout amongst the talent rich area. A state champion high jumper in high school, Legree proved that despite not being the biggest guy on the field, he can make enough plays with his legs to be an SEC WR. After looking at some local Florida schools, and being spurned by his birthplace Gainseville, A.J. signed to play for a fellow undersized wideout, Joker Phillips. Freshman Season, 2012 A.J. had the opportunity to immediately contend for playing time last year at the WR position. The optimistic wideout showed the staff that he had the desire and determination to be on the football field as a true freshman, playing in all 12 games. Legree worked his way up through special teams to become a regular slot receiver, catching 12 passes for 113 yards on the year. Despite the lack of opportunities to catch the ball last season, Legree made the most of it accumulating a significant amount success as a true freshman. Something You Didn't Know About Him I'm not exactly sure when he 'dreamed a dream', but Legree's secret aspiration in life is to become a professional wrestler. We aren't talking backyard brawling, we're talkin about becoming a WWE superstar. Legree isn't the build of your normal wrestler, but I'm sure he can fly all over the ring. If he's smart, he'll become really close with Steven Borden and his family. Something We Made Up About Him A.J. suffers from a severe case of arachnophobia. While teammates believe this to be extremely amusing, frequently putting fake spiders in his locker, he can never overcome the scars of a terrible memory from his youth involving a tarantula, a plunger, and a horse tranquilizer. Unfair NFL Comparison Percy Harvin, Seattle Seahawks Outlook for 2013 When most critics (including myself) have looked to put down the thin WR core for this upcoming season, they rarely mention A.J. Legree. He doesn't do anything flashy or have the body of a freak of nature, but A.J. is determined to get it done in the fall. Listed as a starter, Legree values the opportunity to become part of the foundation of Neal Brown's Air Raid. With 4.4 speed, A.J. is quick enough to become a master in the slot position. With a little work in the fall camp, you might have to get more familiarized with #6.
