The Kroger KSR Game of the Week will feature Johnson Central at Lexington Catholic. The Golden Eagles traveled to Lexington last week and hammered Henry Clay 60-21. Lexington Catholic defeated Ryle 24-21.

Johnson Central

Johnson Central is a powerhouse program from eastern Kentucky that’s led by University of Kentucky offensive line commit Grant Bingham. Head coach Jim Matney has won two state titles and is searching for his third with a veteran team that’s facing a challenging schedule. Johnson Central’s week one matchup against Henry Clay was a one-sided affair after rushing for 394 yards compared to just eight for the Blue Devils.

Lexington Catholic

The Knights finished 2020 with a 5-3 record. Catholic was defeated 49-41 by Boyle County in the playoffs a year ago. It returns several key offensive starters including quarterback Jack Gohmann and five offensive linemen. Lexington Catholic is also facing a difficult schedule in 2021 that includes several state powers starting with Johnson Central.
