Most blogs don't open bars or restaurants, but we're not most blogs. That is why, later this year, Kentucky Sports Radio is opening its own sports bar in Lexington. Think of a family-friendly atmosphere (bring the kids!) with great food and more televisions than one place should ever need, plus a live studio for KSR radio shows and podcast tapings, and much, much more. Matt Jones officially announced KSR's big plans on this morning's show, confirming the name and location of our next venture. It will be called 'KSBar and Grille' and it is going in the space formerly known as District Sport & Tap at 1030 South Broadway. (Some of you may know it as Saddle Ridge's old space, or the old Varsity Blue in its prime.) “Our hope is it becomes the number one spot in Lexington to watch all sports," Matt said on Thursday. "Lexington is restaurant-saturated, but not necessarily sports bar-saturated." The plan is to be up and running by August, so you all have a place to watch the Cats this 2018 football season and beyond. It won't just be about game days, though -- get ready for KSR events, watch parties for several other sports (wrestling, UFC, etc.), and tons of other entertainment designed for our KSR audience. It's going to be lots of fun and we hope you're excited to check it out. Until then, we have a lot of work to do to get it ready. For more on the big project, I'll send you over to the Herald-Leader to read its story with more details.
