KSR Sources: Jaland Lowe reinjures right shoulder in practice

Kentucky got two games out of its prized point guard addition in the transfer portal before the 6’1″ junior suffered another unfortunate setback. Jaland Lowe, who made his debut against Valparaiso and returned for the Louisville loss, went down with another shoulder injury in practice on Thursday, sources tell KSR.
The severity of the injury remains unknown for now, but it’s the same right shoulder that had to be popped back into place in the Blue-White Game, an issue that kept him out both exhibition games vs. No. 1 Purdue and Georgetown, then the regular season opener vs. Nicholls.
The re-injury occurred near the end of practice and his shoulder had to be popped back into place by the training staff, just like in the Blue-White Game, sources tell KSR.
Lowe played in 18 minutes against Valpo, finishing with six points, five assists, two rebounds and a steal in the 107-59 win, followed by 30 minutes in the 96-88 loss at Louisville, adding nine points, five assists, one rebound, one block and one steal.

Ironically, Mark Pope said just before practice that Lowe had responded relatively well coming out of the Louisville loss, dealing with general soreness, but a positive outlook overall.
“He’s got a lot of soreness I think in his whole body, but I think he’s fine,” Pope said Thursday. “I think he’s in good shape.”
That would only be the case for a couple more hours.
