KSR's top takeaways from Kentucky's 62-point win over Morgan State
Kentucky made sure to put down Morgan State early on Friday, getting a 101-39 victory over the Lady Bears to move to 8-1 on the year and 1-1 in the Discover Puerto Rico Shootout. Kentucky will move on to take on Miami in the SEC/ACC Challenge, but they had to get through this one first.
Here are KSR’s top takeaways from the second 100-point outing of the 2025-26 season and second under Kenny Brooks.
You did what you had to do after losing to Maryland
Five different Kentucky Wildcats — Asia Boone (21 points), Teonni Key (16 points), Jordan Obi (17 points), Clara Strack (13 points) and Kaelyn Carroll (15) — scored in double figures against Morgan State. Brooks went to his bench fairly early, and they showed up ready to play.
Boone and Carroll combined to shoot 10-17 (59%) from three-point range — a number that you will take any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Kentucky scored 31 points off of 22 turnovers. The Lady Bears didn’t muster a single one off of Kentucky’s four turnovers.
At the end of the day, Kentucky had to win like this in this manner and by this much, especially after taking the L on Wednesday.

FloSports is the worst thing ever created
Now that we’re here after the fact, FloSports is the absolute worst. It just is. Not only does it require you to dig in your pockets for whatever spare change you have, but the quality is horrible. Not only was the actual stream itself in and out and glitchy at times, but you’d miss a lot of valuable gametime while being stuck in commercial break.
Moving forward, Kentucky should try to avoid some of these multi-team events. Playing on neutral courts against power conference teams is great and all, but what’s the point if no one can watch?
Everyone in this space wants to see women’s basketball grow and thrive. Maybe instead of playing in this kind of MTE, you schedule another game or two at home against a quality opponent. No one is probably to “blame” in a situation like this, but FloSports and the streaming services like it just suck.
