LeBron James Jr. reportedly commits to school in Los Angeles

by:Jack Pilgrim06/11/18
Did nine-time NBA All-Star Gary "The Glove" Payton accidentally reveal LeBron James' highly-anticipated upcoming decision this summer? Well, not really. But he did drop a VERY interesting bit of information in a recent interview with USA Today's Sheena Marie. Payton said that LeBron James will be sending his son to Sierra Canyon School in Los Angeles next year... Conveniently enough, the Los Angeles Lakers are in the running to land James this offseason. In fact, the latest odds from Bovada have the Lakers as the favorites to land arguably the greatest player of all time with a 36.4 percent implied probability. https://twitter.com/michaeleaves/status/1006318102945189889 The Philadelphia 76ers, Houston Rockets, New York Knicks, Boston Celtics, and Golden State Warriors are also reportedly in the running. According to USA Today's Bryan Kalbrosky, one source close to the school cannot confirm the news, though he did say they are the "logical choice" in the... recruitment? (Is he being recruited to middle school?) “I don’t always hear everything," the source said. "We would love to have him, though. As you may know, we are recognized as one of the best athletic schools in the country. That added to our tremendous academic record and the degree of diversity, we are the logical choice!” Sierra Canyon is a K-12 school, so that is likely where he'd stay for the long haul and into his real college recruitment. If true, John Calipari is going to be racking up the SkyMiles to LA recruiting Bronny Jr. in a few years... Watch his highlight tape below: https://youtu.be/TUuOaZ6bBJU [mobile_ad]
