While it is easy to get excited about guys from 2010, there is still a 2007 player considering Kentucky and who visited this weekend. I caught up with
Leonard Washington in between his two flights home at the Cincy airport and was able to ask him about his visit. I first spoke wiht his AAU coach, who said this:
Leonard had a great visit. The coaches were great. The facilities were great. The fans were great. The players were great. It couldnt have been better. Now Leonard just has to make a decision and we are going to try and do that in the next day or so.
He then passed the phone to Leonard and we had this conversation.
How was your visit to UK?
It was good. Everybody treated me really well.
What did you do while you were on the visit?
They were having like a father/son camp and so we were there for that. We signed autographs for the kids, took pictures and that kind of stuff. The fans were crazy so I had a real cool time.
Did you get to see the facilities around the campus?
Yeah they got a new gym and it is really nice. They took me to Rupp Arena too and it was great. That place is so huge that it is unbelievable.
Did you get to know the players at all while you were there?
I knew some of them from the summer and I met some too. They got some real cool guys up there.
Did you talk to Coach Gillispie about your role next year on the team if you come?
For me it isnt about playing time or anything like that. I just got to come in and get to work academically and on the court wherever I go.
Are you going to make a decision soon?
I am gonna try to make some decision tomorrow if I can.
Leonard then had to get off for the flight. Looks like we may learn more tomorrow.....
