Something called The Barna Group recently named the 50 Most Generous Cities In America and… well would ya look at that… Lexington is No. 2 on its list.

Barna took into account the percentage of those who donated any money to charities and nonprofit organizations, including churches and religious organizations, to determine our country’s most generous cities. El Paso tops the list, but Lexington isn’t too far behind, coming up one percentage short of the top spot.

This shouldn’t come as a surprise, honestly. Not only does the city of Lexington have several great (and wealthy) people, the University of Kentucky once gave some drunk a couple million dollars per year to lose basketball games. It doesn’t get much more charitable than that.
