The fax machine is working overtime at the Joe Craft Football Training Facility. In the middle of the morning madness, Liam Coen hopped on Kentucky Roll Call to talk about his first signing day as the Wildcats’ offensive coordinator.

Speaking at around 8:20 am this morning, Kentucky officially had three playmakers on the board. Here’s what Coen had to say about the new Cats.

Brandon White & Jordan Anthony

“Both are extremely fast. That’s the thing, the speed aspect is what those two we’re really taking to help us with and improve our overall team speed. There’s some things you can coach and there’s some things you can’t naturally coach,” Coen said.

“Right off the bat, getting faster at the position, specifically at receiver but also in the return game and team speed in general, it does help when you can add some guys that can really run and be dynamic with the ball in their hands. Now we just gotta work on the receiver fundamentals and techniques. Definitely think those two bring something that we might not necessarily already have in our program.”

Josh Kattus

“Josh is very similar to the guys that we have in the program now, with Brendan Bates and Justin Rigg. He and Batesy knew each other. They’re very similar: tough, physical, relentless blockers, great hands, good feel for the game. His Dad played at a high level in football. His Dad’s massive. The kid’s brothers are massive. He’s going to be massive. He’s just a great kid, the type of kid Kentucky fans are going to really love and enjoy because all he does is want to put his head through the wall for you and work his tail off. A great kid, smart kid, comes from a great family as I mentioned and we’re really excited to have Josh in our program.”

You can listen to the entire conversation with Coen as the Kentucky OC talks about his first rounds on the recruiting trail, the upcoming bowl matchup and more.
