Liam Draxl is moving on in the NCAA Tournament. Yesterday, the Kentucky senior and team captain defeated TCU’s Jacob Fearnley 2-6, 6-3, 6-3 to advance to the Sweet 16 in Orlando. Today, he’ll face Stanford’s Arthur Fery, the No. 3 ranked player in the country (Draxl is No. 13). The match starts at noon and will be broadcast live on the Cracked Racquets YouTube Channel.

This is Draxl’s third NCAA singles tournament. He reached the semifinals his sophomore year as the No. 1 overall seed. Of the three Wildcats who made the singles tournament this year, Draxl is the last one standing. Alafia Ayeni lost to Ohio State’s James Trotter in the Round of 64 on Monday and Joshua Lapadat fell to UVA’s Chris Rodesch, the No. 9 player in the country, in a third-set tiebreaker last night, 7-5, 4-6, 7-6 (2).

Here’s the updated bracket. Go Draxl. Go Cats.
