"LintBron" James Wants Some Afternoon Notes

Happy afternoon, everyone. It’s a pretty slow one in the UK sports world as we inch closer towards this weekend’s Super Regional vs. Louisville. Thankfully, we’ll have Game 3 of the NBA Finals tonight to keep us entertained. Speaking of, check out “LintBron” James, a bust of the Cleveland star made entirely of dryer lint. The masterpiece is currently making the rounds on social media and, well, it’s something. Who ya got tonight? I’ll go with the Cavs, but only because it’s desperation time.

Some notes, because there are some random ones floating around…

The “Burn of the Day” award (which I just made up) definitely goes to Rivals’ TJ Walker, who laid this sick burn on Louisville’s Donovan Mitchell when the former Card tried to talk smack about postseason play:

TJ making him pay! Well done.

— By now, I hope you’ve seen this video that’s gone viral of a guy skimming atop the water after going down a water slide:

Because of course they did, TMZ found the guy, Rolando Johnson, a 21-year-old lifeguard at a waterpark in Jamaica. Johnson says he’s perfected the trick over two years, and the secret is getting a big push at the top of the slide then crossing your legs and sitting up right before shooting out of the tube. Apparently all the lifeguards at this waterpark do it.

I have a feeling a ton of people are going to try this and get hurt. Do not try this and get hurt, please.

— I shared a roundup of all the latest mock drafts with you earlier, but Sports Illustrated just put out its latest “Big Board” of the best prospects in the draft, and although he’s projected fourth in most mocks, De’Aaron Fox comes in at #2. Here’s what Jeremy Woo had to say about him:

Dating back to his impressive March, Fox has crept up draft boards, including this one, thanks to his tantalizing athletic ability and all that comes with it. He’s incredibly fast, can generate transition looks by pushing the ball, and has the strength and explosion to get it all the way to the rim and finish. His defensive instincts are also extremely impressive, and the legitimate strengths on both ends are a big part of his appeal. The big question is his jump shot, which doesn’t look broken but must become consistent enough to at least keep defenses honest. He’ll also need to strengthen his lower body as he fills out. With his change of pace ability and passing instincts, some teams prefer Fox’s slash-first game to Lonzo Ball’s measured approach. There’s enough reason for optimism for the Lakers to give Fox a hard look at No. 2.

Woo ranks Malik Monk 7th and Bam Adebayo 26th. Check out his reasoning here.

— If you’re going through Matt Jones withdrawal, he did an interview with “Hey Kentucky” regular Ricky Jones and “12” on Louisville hip hop station 93.1 The Beat, and the idea of Matt being on a hip hop station is reason alone to listen. He comes on around the 16-minute mark.
