That's right - Foster's lunch pail defense gave up 37 points to the Cats in Foster's final game with the program. The Cats came away with the exciting 37-30 victory, but the story of the game seemed to be stuck on Foster - Virginia Tech's long-time defensive coordinator - and his impending retirement. I can't be the only one who remembers the excessive camera shots of Foster on the sidelines or the commentators' consistent reminders that this would be his final game. But in case you forgot, Foster is here to remind you he's done with the daily grind of football. Well, mostly. He is still the special assistant to Virginia Tech's Athletic Director. He shared this image on twitter: https://twitter.com/coachfostervt/status/1289333878570643456 In all seriousness, I'm glad Bud Foster is appreciating retirement. He's a native Kentuckian (born in Somerset), and he played football for Murray State from 1977-80. The lake looks beautiful, and after more than three long decades in a demanding profession, he deserves to enjoy it. But I hope we don't have to hear about it anymore.
