When Kentucky beats Louisville in basketball next season, VJ King will not be there to see it. King decided he will pursue a professional career instead, announcing on Tuesday that he will forgo his senior season at University 6 to chase his NBA dreams. Last season at Louisville, King, a former McDonald's All-American, averaged 3.9 points and 3.0 rebounds per game as a junior, down from 5.5 points and 8.6 points per game in his freshman and sophomore seasons. Once Louisville's season ended at the hands of Richard Pitino in the first round of the tournament (LOL), King decided he would consider the NBA Draft and other programs for his final season of eligibility. Today we learned he is off to the NBA -- or at least going to try. Good luck to him. And let this be a lesson, kids: if you're a highly-rated basketball prospect who dreams of the NBA and was once compared to LeBron James early in your high school career, do not go to Louisville.
