calspeech Students of higher education at the state's flagship institution will get the first crack at tickets to the state's flagship athletic kickoff event. Full-time UK students will get the chance to beat the campers and win Midnight Madness tickets before everyone else in a lottery, the process for which everyone will hate, held in Memorial this evening. Here's the statement from Cat Scratches:
Kentucky students will have a chance to get their hands on the coveted Big Blue Madness tickets before anyone else. A limited number of student-only Big Blue Madness tickets will be distributed Monday night in a lottery at Memorial Coliseum. Tickets are available to full-time UK students and full-time KCTCS students who have paid the athletics fee. Doors at Memorial Coliseum will open at 8 p.m. with the lottery set to begin at 9 p.m. Tickets are free but students must have a valid UK student ID. The general distribution is Saturday. Fans can start lining up for the general distribution Wednesday at 7 a.m.
Madness may be less than a month away, but the insanity starts with the campout this Wednesday. So, basically, basketball season starts this week...and that feels damn fine to type. I can't wait.
