Malik Monk arrives in Charlotte
Many expected Malik Monk to be drafted eighth by the New York Knicks, but he handled his slide to Charlotte at eleventh like a pro, telling reporters afterwards that he believes everything happens for a reason.
“I actually thought the Knicks would take me, but nothing is disappointing about getting drafted. This has been my dream forever, and nobody ever from my town has ever been drafted, ever made it this far, so I’m just thankful to be here.”
This morning, Monk arrived in Charlotte, ready to embrace his new city:
