As soon as Malik Monk was drafted by Michael Jordan's Charlotte Hornets, the former Wildcat was forced to field questions about his new boss. One of them continues to be asked:
"Could you beat Jordan one-on-one?"
Monk has never been political with his response, always answering affirmatively. He doubled down today in an interview during the Hornets' first Summer League game.
"He's pretty old right now. I think I could get him," Monk said.
Monk was being interviewed during the game because he is doubtful to play this summer. He sprained his left ankle during pre-draft workouts. In the interview he revealed that it happened during a closeout, about "three to four weeks" before the draft. See everything he had to say on NBA TV:
