malik-newman Malik Newman has requested a release and plans on transferring from Mississippi State. Newman was the highest ranked point guard in the class of 2015, eighth overall in the 247 Composite Rankings.  Even though many believed he was heading to Kentucky, he opted to go farther south to Starkville where things didn't go as planned. He averaged 11.3 points a game as a freshman but wasn't good enough to go pro, allegedly skipping classes which essentially forced him out of school.  Newman's father told The Clarion-Ledger that he's leaving MSU because of "trust issues" with coach Ben Howland, whatever that means. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hKqZjgIfxe0 w
