Yesterday, Marcus Lee's brother told Kyle Tucker that Marcus was either going to play basketball professionally next season or return to Kentucky, dispelling rumors that he may transfer for a graduate season. This morning, Lee reiterated to ESPN's Jeff Goodman that his goal is to be drafted in June, but he won't sign with an agent.
"I haven't hired an agent," the 6-foot-9 junior forward told ESPN. "Because I want to keep my eligibility just in case I decide to come back, but my plan is to go to the NBA. That's the only goal."
Lee said he's talked it over with Cal, who understands that Lee will go seek feedback and decide from there, even if it means not coming back.
"I want people to know I am serious about this," Lee added. "I've talked to Coach Cal about this, and he definitely understands that I'm going to the NBA this year."
Goodman cites several NBA executives that say Lee could go in the second round, but Lee said he's more focused on finding the right situation with the right team. Here's hoping he does. [ESPN]
