When the line on Kentucky-South Carolina opened up out in the desert on Sunday, it was kind of a slap in the face to the Kentucky football program. The undefeated, 17th-ranked Wildcats, playing at home, were labeled a one-point underdog to South Carolina, a team that's winless in the series over the last four years. How is that possible? Has an undefeated, ranked team ever been a home underdog to a team they've beaten four straight years? It's hard to imagine it's happened often, if ever. But Mark Stoops isn't sweating it. When asked about the disrespect coming from Las Vegas, Stoops said, "I don't care. I think we were two-touchdown underdogs last week, weren't we? We're just going to go about our business and do the best we can." The ranking and national recognition, though; he's cool with all of that. "As far as the recognition, I'm good with it because the players have earned it," Stoops added. "They've worked hard. That's fine, but it cannot distract from us. It should not and will not. But they do deserve to get the recognition because they've put a lot of time in and it's about the production they've done this year. They didn't get that in the preseason. They've earned it through the work they've done." For what it's worth, the line has shifted to UK now laying one point to the Gamecocks on Saturday.
