IMG_3900 Stoops met with the media (very briefly) one last time before the team heads to Florida. Here is what he had to say... The Team Had a Good Week Stoops was happy with the attitude he saw from his team this week. Stoops said guys were focused and trying to get better. "It's been a long week. We've needed to get a lot of work done and we have. We've had some good practices the past couple of days and a good walkthrough today," Stoops said. Stoops Isn't Worried About Drew Barker on the Road This will be Drew Barker's first start on the road. Other than practicing with crowd noise, Barker's preparation for Florida has been no different despite the tough road environment. "I don't anticipate that it'll be an issue. It's loud and you're going to have to deal with that and we have at practice. He's been efficient, so I don't know what else you can do," Stoops said. Stoops said it helps that Barker has been around to see what playing on the road is like. Denzil Ware Has Tried to be a Leader On Wednesday we learned that Ware called an all players meeting this week. When asked if Ware has stepped up as a leader on this team, Stoops said Ware has tried to be a leader all year. "Denzil means very well. I think Denzil will be the first to tell that he's talking to himself too because he made some critical, critical errors in that game. So I don't think that was anything about pointing fingers, it was about 'let's get on the same page and let's get our act together'," Stoops said. The Battle at Punter Continues  The coaches are not yet settled on one punter yet. However, Grant McKinniss will be out on the field first. Injury Update Both Josh Allen and Blake McClain will play on Saturday.
