Since then, Estill has been an assistant basketball coach at Dunbar in Lexington, where he helped lead the Bulldogs to the state championship last season. Now, Estill is an assistant coach for a brand new college basketball team at Midway University. For years, Midway was a school for women, but in May, voted to become a fully coed institution with male athletic teams. After St. Catherine College closed in July, St. Catherine's coach Joe Krupinski brought six of his former players to Midway and added nine more for a roster of 15. He rounded out his coaching staff with Estill and student assistant Jamille Jones. “We are very excited to add Marquis to our basketball family at Midway,” Krupinski said via press release. “With his combination of coaching and playing experience at the highest levels, and his commitment to developing student-athletes on and off the court and in the classroom, he is an ideal fit to help us get our program off the ground and achieve success – both in the short and long term.” The Eagles will open their inaugural season this weekend at the Marian Classic at Marian University in Indianapolis and host their first ever home game on November 2 vs. Lindsey Wilson. Congrats, Marquis!
