Matt Jones to host new show on LEX18

Lexington, KY NBC affiliate WLEX-TV is proud to announce that it will produce a new nightly program hosted by Matt Jones of Kentucky Sports Radio fame. The yet-to-be-named show will air Mondays through Fridays at 7:30pm on LEX18 this fall.

Jones stresses that the show’s focus will look beyond sports. “We’ll talk everyday life- the things that are on your mind right now. So sure, UK sports will be a big factor, but also politics, what’s happening around the state, whatever is going on that sparks real conversation. And we’ll have fun with it. It’s exciting to do this type of program on Lexington’s number one TV station, WLEX.”

“Matt’s new show gives us the chance to create fresh, local programming,” says WLEX President and General Manager Pat Dalbey. “It’s going to be unlike anything currently in our market. Matt has a huge following on radio and online, and this new venture exposes him to an even greater audience. We’re thrilled to have him.”

The show will also feature a co-host who will vary depending on the subjects discussed and their expertise. “But you can count on some well-known names to share the set with Matt on any given night,” say Dalbey. “Former UK stars, political figures, whoever can lend a provocative voice to driving an engaging and lively debate with Matt.”
