Meet Ater Majok: The Newest 2008 Big Man on the Horizon

by:Matt Jones02/21/08
rewrew Want a big man in the 2008 class that can do some damage? Then meet Ater Majok, the 6'10" Sudanese big man that is right on Kentucky's radar here in the Spring signing period. After originally committing to Baylor, Majok reopened his recruitment and is now looking at a host of schools, ranging from the Bears to Connecticut, West Virginia, UCLA and now, Kentucky. TCP reported that Majok would be playing in Texas this week with UK assistant coaches in attendance. Folks this is a huge player for UK, both literally and figuratively. He is 6'10" but has a 7'4" wingspan and the ability to hit a midrange jumper. Having spent some time in Australia, he has been on NBA scouts' radar and has become maybe the most highly recruited big man left in the class. If Kentucky can get one of the three remaining visits that Majok is taking, then they are in the race. Get Majok and one wing scorer and this class has Top 10 potential. Ater Majok will be playing in the tournament hosted by KC Ross-Miller's high school team this week, so you think he might get some good words in his ear by the 2010 recruit? Majok connected to UK is big news folks and we will keep you posted around these parts. Until then, watch the video below so you can see more about the young man....
