sutton.gif The focus today is on football, as it should be. But UK has also just announced the plans for Midnight Madness, an old school event celebrated by the old school picture above. Below is the plan for getting seats and seeing what should be a WILD atmosphere: LEXINGTON, Ky. — Tickets for the 2007 Big Blue Madness at Rupp Arena will be available Saturday, Sept. 29, at 7 a.m., at the Joe Craft Center ticket office and online at UKathletics.com. Madness, the first practice opportunity for Kentucky’s 2007-08 men’s and women’s basketball teams, is Friday, Oct. 12, at 9 p.m. It is also the first Big Blue Madness for new head coaches Billy Gillispie and Matthew Mitchell. Tickets are free again this year, however online sales have a service fee attached. There is a limit of four tickets per person. At the request of campus public safety officials, fans wishing to line up ahead of time at Memorial Coliseum are asked to do so no earlier than 8 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 26. The Athletics Department will provide portable restroom facilities, but safety concerns will prohibit the use of permanent, wooden-type structures, and propane tanks or other open flames used in cooking. This will be the third time Madness has been held at Rupp Arena, where over 23,000 fans have attended each of the last two years.
