Mighty Jojo

Jojo Kemp is a MONSTER.  The true freshman running back for the University of Kentucky is off to a blazing pace to start the 2013 season.  The question stands as to why he is not getting more playing time in this fast paced offense.  While we are an “Air Raid,” we are probably the most balanced Air Raid in its short history.  This is not bad because we have such tools in the back field.  The major tool that we have to work with is Jojo.  Through the three games we have played, we have seen a steady increase in production from Kemp.

Through the first three weeks into the bye week, fans can see the steady increase of importance that this guy adds to our offense.  You can see a new product every time he gets on the field.  A major difference in the week-to-week performance is the fact that he is beginning to settle in.  The nerves are starting to disappear and a true sprint style runner is starting to emerge.  The numbers do not lie and when comparing him side by side with the rest of the running backs a starter is on the horizon.

Finally as UK fans we are beginning to see not only a productive backfield, but a leader is beginning to emerge.  It is time that Jojo gets more carries and embraces his role as the leader of the running backs.  His great speed and ability to read the defenders makes him an elite back that Kentucky has been missing for some time.  Jojo provides hope for the future and is a true breath of fresh air.  We as fans need to see that this guy is a freshman and was playing high school ball last year.  This is also the reason that he has not been the major ball carrier as of now.  Kemp just ran all over a Top Ten team’s defense whose head coach is supposedly a defensive guy.

Jojo Kemp WILL play a bigger role in Kentucky’s offense as the season progresses.  However, it is through the other running backs that Kemp is having success.  Our backfield will be a fine tuned machine by the end of the season, lead by none other than Mister Jojo Kemp.  Also, for the first time in ages we have speed that will allow us to match up with Florida better.  Coming off of the bye week we have a great chance to end the longest active losing streak in college football!
